  • Beltane Connections: A Joyful Celebration of Life, Community, and Intention

This past Sunday, May 4th, UUNB came alive with vibrant energy and deep spiritual connection as we celebrated our annual Beltane/May Day/Earth Day Sunday Service—a beloved tradition that marks the turning of the season and the blossoming of new life.

Our service, titled “Beltane Connections,” invited us to honor the tides of Nature—strength, growth, and abundance—and to weave our intentions, blessings, and dreams into a single shared ribbon. Each person added their touch to this ribbon during the message, symbolizing our individual hopes and our collective spirit.

As one community, we infused that ribbon with joy, hope, and connection. Later, it was danced around the Maypole—a beautiful act of sealing our intentions with movement, laughter, and rhythm. This year, the entire pole was wrapped—a vibrant display of unity and full participation!

The celebration didn’t stop there. After the service, our grounds transformed into a lively festival space filled with intergenerational fun: picnic lunches under the sun, yard games echoing with laughter, a refreshing drink station, colorful rock painting, and of course, the joyful Maypole dance.

Many attendees shared how meaningful and uplifting the service was. There was a palpable sense of connection—not just to each other, but to the greater web of life.

A heartfelt thank you to all who helped bring this day to life: the planners, the musicians, the ribbon weavers, the rock painters, the food sharers, and every smiling face that danced or played or simply showed up in spirit.

This celebration has truly become UUNB’s way of gathering before summer sets in and many head off on their seasonal journeys. What a beautiful send-off—rooted in community, joy, and the power of shared intention.

Blessed Beltane to all! May your days ahead be full of light, laughter, and deep connection.
